Aubry and Jason love that in agriculture, a new year always brings new beginnings and each season brings about its own beautiful changes. Country barns are something that have always stirred Aubry's heart. As a teenager growing up in Nebraska, she would often take long drives to photograph old barns. Inspired by her grandfather’s and parent’s farms, she felt drawn to the honest agrarian lifestyle, and now, she and Jason are living their dream. Fresh air, peacefulness and wide-open spaces are the things they are proud to call home. They would love to share what they have worked hard for with people in the local community who appreciate the same, simplistic beauty of a small farm. There is no better way to do this than to share the farm during some of life’s most beautiful moments: weddings. From this idea, The Highland Barn was born.
The name “The Highland Barn” is a tribute to Aubry and Jason's Scottish Highland cows, Nutmeg and Nettle, who reside on the farm, and a nod to Aubry’s Scottish heritage. The Highland Barn was built in 1987 by the previous land owners and serves as a Pinterest-worthy spot for bridal photos. The Highland Barn serves as a beautiful backdrop, amongst 45 secluded acres of hay fields and lush forested areas to provide a scenic area for weddings, while providing intimacy and privacy.
