EXECUTIVE MOBILE RESTROOM TRAILERS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR YOUR GUESTS. THERE ARE NO PERMANENT RESTROOM FACILITIES AT THE VENUE TO MAINTAIN THE AUTHENTIC, RUSTIC CHARM OF HIGHLAND BARN.
HIGHLAND BARN IS ACCESSIBLE TO GUESTS OF VARYING ABILITIES AT THE OUTDOOR CEREMONY AND RECEPTION SITES. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AREAS AROUND THE BARN ARE GRASS LAWN.
YES- WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE A LIST OF LOCAL HOTELS AND BED AND BREAKFASTS FOR YOUR WEDDING PARTY AND GUESTS.
WE CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 150 GUESTS ON THE FARM.
YOUR WEDDING DATE IS CONFIRMED WHEN HIGHLAND BARN HAS RECEIVED YOUR SIGNED CONTRACT, AND NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKING FEE (50% OF PACKAGE PRICE). THE REMAINING BALANCE (50% OF PACKAGE PRICE) IS DUE 60 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR WEDDING.
WE ALLOW COUPLES TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN CHOICE OF CATERER PROVIDED THEY ARE APPROVED BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE A LIST OF LOCAL CATERERS.
WE ALLOW BUBBLES, BIRD SEED, PETALS, AND SPARKLERS (20 YARDS AWAY FROM STRUCTURES).
CLIENTS AND/OR THEIR CATERERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEARING AND UNDRESSING ALL TABLES DURING THE HOUR AFTER CONCLUSION OF THE EVENT. THIS INCLUDES: COLLECTING AND BAGGING ALL TRASH AND SERVICE ITEMS. ALL ITEMS BROUGHT IN FOR THE EVENT, TO INCLUDE SERVICE ITEMS AND DECORATIONS, MUST BE BAGGED FOR DISPOSAL AND REMOVED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE EVENT.
YOU MAY HIRE A LICENSED AND INSURED DECORATOR TO HANG ITEMS FROM THE CEILING OR LIGHT FIXTURES. NAILS, GLUE, TAPE ETC. ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE USED TO AFFIX DECORATIONS TO OUR STRUCTURES.
YOU MAY RENT AIR CONDITIONING UNITS OR HEATING UNITS TO USE IN THE TENTS DEPENDING ON YOUR PREFERENCE AND TIME OF YEAR.
YOU MAY USE BATTERY OPERATED CANDLES AND LANTERNS AT YOUR EVENT. NO LIVE FLAME CANDLES ARE ALLOWED AT HIGHLAND BARN.
PETS ARE ENCOURAGED- WE INCLUDED OUR PUPS AND HIGHLAND COWS IN OUR WEDDING PHOTOS! WE RECOMMEND THAT THEY ONLY BE INCLUDED DURING THE CEREMONY AS WEDDINGS ARE OVERWHELMING EVENTS FOR ANIMALS. WE RECOMMEND THAT THEY BE CRATED FOR THE COCKTAIL HOUR AND RECEPTION. HIGHLAND BARN IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE BEHAVIOR OF YOUR PET.
WE REQUIRE A LICENSED WEDDING COORDINATOR OR DAY-OF COORDINATOR TO ENSURE YOUR EVENT RUNS SMOOTHLY. HIGHLAND BARN STAFF WILL ALWAYS BE ONSITE DURING EVENTS, BUT ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO COORDINATE ARRIVAL AND PLACEMENT OF VENDORS OR FURNITURE/DECORATION INSTALLATION AND TAKE DOWN. WE ARE HAPPY TO PROVIDE A LIST OF EXPERIENCED WEDDING COORDINATORS TO ENSURE A SEAMLESS WEDDING DAY.
BASIC FOLDING CHAIRS AND ROUND OR RECTANGLE TABLES ARE INCLUDED FOR YOUR GUESTS. AS EACH EVENT IS UNIQUE, YOU MAY CHOOSE TO RENT THE STYLE OF TABLES AND CHAIRS THAT YOU PREFER FOR YOUR SPECIAL DAY. WE ARE HAPPY TO PROVIDE A LIST OF RENTAL COMPANIES WHO PROVIDE BASIC RENTALS AS WELL AS UNIQUE ACCENT PIECES.
YES, YOU MAY SERVE WINE, BEER AND MIXED DRINKS AT YOUR WEDDING. YOU MUST OBTAIN A BANQUET LICENCE FROM VIRGINIA ABC AT https://www.abc.virginia.gov/ebanquet/public/login.do?linkURL=http://www.abc.virginia.gov:80/ebanquet/public
IF THE WEATHER DOES NOT COOPERATE, YOU MAY HOLD YOUR CEREMONY INSIDE THE BARN PRIOR TO THE RECEPTION.
YES. WE HAVE A GENERATOR ONSITE IN THE EVENT THERE IS A POWER OUTAGE. (THIS HAS NOT OCCURRED, BUT IS PROVIDED AS A BACK UP MEASURE).
NO, WE DO REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT TO TOUR THE BARN AND SURROUNDING PROPERTY. PLEASE REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT VIA THE CONTACT FORM ON THE HOME PAGE.
